privacy policy

www.futurance.co.uk is owned and operated by Futurance Limited. Futurance Limited is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. This privacy policy explains how we use the information we collect about you, how you can instruct us if you prefer to limit the use of that information and procedures that we have in place to safeguard your privacy.

1. The information we collect and how we use it

When you open an account with Futurance we need to know certain personal details, including but not limited to your name, postal address, e-mail address, telephone number, bank account details, your child’s unique reference number if you request that your Cashback (see Members Terms and Conditions) be credited to his or her child trust fund account or your student loan account reference if you request that your Cashback be credited to your student loan account. You will only be asked for this information if you open an account with www.futurance.co.uk.

We gather this information to allow us to process your application for membership and set up the process of allocating you Futurance Rewards (see Members Terms and Conditions), which is how you earn Cashback. The relevant information is then used by us, our agents and sub-contractors to provide you with statements of your account, manage your account, Futurance Rewards and Cashback and to communicate with you on any matter relating to the conduct of your account and the provision of the service in general. You will be able to link through www.futurance.co.uk to purchase and subscribe for goods and services from Merchants (see Members Terms and Conditions) but they will collect their own information from you and we will not share your personal data or sensitive personal data with them.

We may also use aggregate information and statistics for the purposes of monitoring website usage in order to help us develop the website and our services and may provide such aggregate information to third parties. These statistics will not include information that can be used to identify any individual.

We or our agents and sub-contractors may contact you by post, e-mail, text message or telephone to ask you for your feedback and comments on our services.

We may also wish to provide you with information about special features of our website or any other service or products we think may be of interest to you. If you would rather not receive this information, please tick the appropriate box when opening your account.

We may also want to provide you with related information from third parties we think may be of interest to you. If you would rather not receive this information, please tick the appropriate box when opening your account.

We may also provide your information to carefully selected third parties whose products or services we believe may be of interest to you. If you do not wish us to disclose your information in this way, please tick the appropriate box when opening your account.

2. Our use of cookies and other information gathering technologies

Cookies are very important for the operation of www.futurance.co.uk. This is because we use cookies to track your member login and third party cookies are used to track what goods and services you purchase or subscribe for from our Merchants.

If your transaction cannot be tracked then we will not receive any commission from our Merchants for goods or services you have purchased or subscribed for from them, which will in turn mean that you are not allocated any Futurance Rewards (see Members Terms and Conditions). It is therefore very important that you set your browser settings to accept cookies. You have the ability to decline cookies, but you will not be eligible to receive Futurance Rewards if you do so.

A cookie is a text-only string of information that our website transfers to the cookie file of the browser on your computer’s hard disk so that our website can remember who you are.

A cookie will typically contain the domain name that has generated the cookie, the ‘lifetime’ of the cookie and a value, usually a randomly generated unique number.

In addition to tracking your purchases, we may use cookies to tailor our website contents to your preferred interests, and to compile anonymous, aggregated statistics that allow us to understand how users use our website and to help us to improve our website.
