merchants

Why do the merchants’ rates change?

The merchants’ rates can be seen alongside their description in the f:mall and they are known as the ‘f:level’. These rates can change regularly, depending on the merchant and are sometimes due to seasonal offers. Also, as more Futurance members shop with a certain merchant, we receive better rates of commission which we obviously pass on to you!

We make every effort to keep up with merchants’ rate changes. However, sometimes we don’t receive notification of a rate change, or the rate changes just after one of our frequent reviews and we miss the change. We can only pass onto our members the commission that the merchant gives us and so the rate offered may not always be the same as that shown in the f:mall.

Can I receive rewards for purchasing gift certificates?

No. If you purchase a gift certificate from a merchant and then someone (another Futurance member!) purchases an item from that merchant with the gift certificate, we would effectively be paying rewards twice on the same transaction. Merchants don’t pay us commission for gift certificates and so unfortunately we can’t give cashback for them.

Why has a merchant declined my rewards?

There are several reasons why a merchant may decline a transaction:

  • If you returned the product / cancelled the service.
  • If the details you provided were incorrect and the purchase/subscription could not be completed.
  • If you visited another rewards or comparison site recently, the merchant may have recognised that cookie and awarded commission to that site instead of Futurance.co.uk.

Why are some rewards shown as a % and others as £s?

Some merchants pay a fixed commission for each transaction and others pay a percentage of the transaction value. We display this information on the merchant’s information page so you can see whether your rewards will be a fixed amount or dependent upon how much you spend.
